This event brings together Yanis Varoufakis, renowned economist, political thinker, former Greek Minister of Finance, and author of Technofeudalism, and Laurent Richard, acclaimed investigative journalist, documentary filmmaker, founder of Forbidden Stories, and a key figure behind the Pegasus Project, for a timely conversation on how artificial intelligence is reshaping power, economic systems, and democratic institutions.

While AI is often framed as a technical tool, this conversation explores a deeper transformation: AI as infrastructure—systems that increasingly organize markets, labor, surveillance, and society itself. Drawing on both economic theory and real-world investigative reporting, the discussion will examine how these developments affect economic organization, public accountability, and the future of democracy.

The event will begin with a conversation with Yanis, followed by a joint panel discussion, and conclude with a second session focused on surveillance, investigative journalism, and the exposure of hidden systems of power. The event will also include audience Q&A.
