Fresno State professor and clinician Dr. Nupur Hajela is utilizing immersive virtual reality and mobile health unit-based outreach to provide advanced medical care for patients with Parkinson’s disease. Hajela is using funds awarded through the Early Concept for Exploratory Research grant from CSU STEM-NET to extend a free, research-based clinical service. She will be utilizing Fresno State’s Mobile Health Unit to reach rural areas, with plans to expand into Mariposa County this fall. These regions typically lack healthcare specialists for Parkinson’s disease.
